Josh Kimbrel – Owner of Airtight Design
With over 25 years of experience in web development, Josh Kimbrel has spent the majority of his career working in software development, specifically utilizing open-source technologies such as LAMP. He currently owns Airtight Design, a web development agency, and serves as CTO of OxBlue. Josh leverages his extensive experience in web development and technology in both roles. His priority in both positions is to lead his teams to successful outcomes in everything they do, with their north star being to always take care of the customer as the first priority.
Josh’s early career as a software developer was marked by a specialization in building software using PHP. He began his journey by developing open-source content management systems for videogame news sites, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. As his expertise grew, he transitioned into creating bespoke software solutions, utilizing popular frameworks such as CakePHP and Laravel. This progression allowed Josh to tackle more complex projects and establish a strong foundation in custom software development.
Josh Kimbrel spent 11 years at Airtight Design before joining OxBlue in 2020. In May of 2024, he had the opportunity to purchase Airtight Design and take over the operation of the business. Currently, Josh functions in both roles – leading the teams at Airtight in building powerful websites and software while driving the technology strategy for OxBlue. Balancing these dual responsibilities, he leverages his extensive experience and expertise to ensure both organizations thrive and deliver exceptional results for their clients.
