The Web Design Process
At AirTight Design, we understand that you may have never built a website and that your expertise lies in other areas. We'll guide you through the process carefully, explaining technical issues in everyday English. Here's a run-down of the steps involved in building your company's site:
Free consultation
Call us at 404-944-2944 or use this form to contact us. After a brief phone consultation, we will visit your place of business to develop an online strategy for your company.
Developing a Plan
AirTight Design will submit a written quote and a plan for exactly how we will build out the site. We'll outline each section of the site, describe the interactivity and functionality of the site and set a schedule for building the site. Once we're both happy with the terms of the project, we'll begin.
Set-up
You may need help securing a domain name (www.yoursitename.com). We'd be happy to do this for you. You may also need help choosing a Web host. We work with a variety of web hosting companies. Based on the structure of your site, we will help you secure the most affordable server space we can find that meets the required technical specifications.
Mock-ups
After we have agreed on a plan for the Web site, we will custom build several mock-ups for the site based on your input. The mock-ups are non-functioning graphical representations of what your site would look like. From the beginning we consider browser compatibility, download times, usability and other technical issues. These concepts may be new to you, but we deal with them every day.
Revision
You will choose the mock-up that will best fulfill your company mission and give us instructions on how to improve it. Usually we go through several rounds of revisions with mock-ups. We aren't satisfied with the design until you are.
Gathering Materials
We can work with your text and graphics, or we can help you develop them. Our employees and contractors have extensive experience writing copy, taking photography and developing logos and other graphic materials.
Build-Out
When we have your materials, we will build the site using HTML, JavaScript, CGI, Java, ASP and various other Web development tools and languages. Count on us to choose the right technology to get the job done.
Launch
When the site is designed and you are satisfied with the finished product, we launch the site. We will work with you to promote the site among major search engines and sites related to your industry. We can also teach someone at your company how to maintain some or all of the site or we can maintain it for you and bill you on an hourly basis for maintenance services.
