Web-based Applications
Imagine your business or organization operating more efficiently than ever. Imagine serving your customers in ways that were never possible. As long as your employees and customers have access to the Internet, AirTight Design can make this vision a reality.
Consider the following web-based applications that AirTight Design has developed for its clients:
- A new educational institution needed an application on the web that allows students to enroll in courses that they will offer. The courses are taught all over Georgia, so they will have the course instructors provide attendance reports via the web application. AirTight Design developed a web application that allows students to enroll in continuing education courses. The same system is used by course instructors to report on student attendance and performance in these courses. Administrators are able to track what students have met the course requirements and award continuing education credits accordingly.
- A coffee distributor sells its products to wholesale customers only, but they want to also sell directly to consumers. AirTight Design developed a powerful web site that allows customers to purchase coffee products, but with one amazing difference. When an approved wholesale customers log in to the site, they see the same products, but with an entirely different price structure. Also, wholesale customers only pay taxes on specific products and have additional choices for shipping.
- A surveying company exchanges CAD files with its clients on a daily basis. Because the files are generally large (often more than 10 MB), the company and its clients experienced a large number of email bounces. Even when CAD files were successfully emailed, they often filled up email accounts so that other emails were bounced. AirTight Design developed a file exchange application that allows the company and its clients to exchange CAD files using a browser. The files are stored on the company web server so that email accounts are unaffected. To improve the work flow process, recipients are notified when files have been sent to them and senders are notified once files have been downloaded by the intended recipients. The application automatically deletes files one month after they have been downloaded to save space on the server.
Custom vs. Out-of-the-box
AirTight Design looks for the simplest, most affordable solution to our clients' problems. Whenever possible, we use open source applications that are secure, scalable and will meet the client's needs. Often we are able to use a proven application as the basis for our solution, saving the client thousands of dollars.
What's possible?
Just about anything you can imagine is possible. If you need help developing the scope of the application, we can certainly do so. Because we have probably already developed an application that is similar to what your company needs, we can share ideas on how to maximize the utility and minimize the costs of the project.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
We stand behind the applications we develop because we build them carefully and test them thoroughly before launch. When possible, we develop online applications that you can maintain yourself, but if you need our maintenance services, we can perform the work for you on an hourly basis. As your company's needs change, we can revise the application to meet those needs.
